Hornsby Medical Practice is open between 8am and 6.00pm, Monday – Friday for appointments. Consultations are normally by appointment, but the first available Doctor will see urgent cases. Patients can nominate to see a Doctor of their choice on any given day the particular Doctor is working.
If you feel your condition is urgent please let the reception staff know, if you cannot wait please call 000 or go to Hornsby Hospital Emergency Department.
If you feel your child or baby is unwell, please call our practice as it is our policy that all children and babies who are unwell will be given an appointment regardless if we are fully booked.
Our After Hour’s Service attends to calls outside these times, including public holidays. Their phone number is 13 SICK or 137425. The After Hours team will liaise with your Doctor if necessary during the course of your treatment.

Home and Nursing Home Visits
The Doctors are available for home visits and local nursing home visits for current regular patients of the practice within a 5Km radius. Please phone the practice as soon as possible after 8.00am. Home Visits are $125.
Telephone your Doctor
Doctors in this practice may be contacted by phone during normal surgery hours. If the Doctors is with a patient a message will be taken and your call will be returned as soon as possible.
Please do not email our practice in an emergency.
If the matter is an emergency you are best to call the practice. If you need immediate medical help call 000. We will respond to emails within 1 business day. We will not send any sensitive information by email and it is always best to see your Doctor face to face.
Results Follow Up
You are welcome to call and see if your results are ready.
A follow up appointment is required to discuss results. Our recall system identifies abnormal results and you will be contacted to make an appointment.
Hornsby Medical Practice is committed to preventative care.
You will be included in our reminder system and any State or Federal registers to give you the best possible care. This would include reasons such as cervical screening, vaccine schedules, diabetes and cholesterol checks.
